7 Bunk bed Decoration Themes For Kids

These days, bunk beds are available in many wonderful designs. What can make these bunk beds appear a lot better is the way their owners decorate them. Decorated bunk beds are loved by a lot of kids. The presence of these personalized furniture pieces can really help them feel more relaxed and comfortable inside their room. Do your kids sleep on a bunk? You might want to consider decorating them. Here are some popular bunk bed themes from which you might want to get some inspiration.

Castles

Bunk beds can also be decorated to look like castles. A lot of kids imagine their bunk beds to be castles. Achieving a castle look is easy. Just post some medieval flags on top of the posts - make sure the flagsticks are not pointy. The flags can be downloaded from the Internet or you can simply ask your kids to decorate their flags. The posts can also be covered with decorated cardboard  so that they can appear to be towers. If your bunk bed has a color that resembles stones or bricks then going for a castle look would not be that hard to do.

Pirates

A lot of kids, without a doubt, pretend that their bunk beds are pirate ships. This is not hard to imagine since bunk beds have an upper deck or a lower deck. To make a bunk that looks like a pirate ship, you might want to make a wooden steering wheel and attach firmly it to the bunk. A white silk sail or a Blackbeard flag can also be attached to the bunk. Go for a pirate-themed bunk bed if your bunk bed has that fine, textured wooden look.

Garden

A garden theme can be perfect for any nature-loving child. There are a number of things that can help you achieve a garden theme. For instance, you might want to consider hanging some decorative ribbons over the bunk. You and your kids can make flowers and leaves out of paper and attach these decorations to your hanging ribbons. Make sure you use colourful decors. You might also want to paint the bunk with garden colors like green, brown, or gray. Butterfly cut-outs and stickers of garden bugs and insects can also be attached to the bed.

Superhero

If your kids love superheroes, then you might want to go for a superhero theme. You would need to have a good knowledge on your kids' favourite heroes so that you would not have a hard time coming up with decorative ideas. For example, if your kids love Spiderman, then a red or blue bunk would be a good idea. You might also want to make webbings out of cotton and attach them to various parts of the bunk bed. The sheets and the pillowcases would have to be related to Spiderman as well.  If you do not want to stick to a single superhero, you might as well go for a general superhero any-character-can-do theme.

Jungle

A jungle theme can also be a good decoration theme for a bunk bed. This theme would work well for a wooden bunk. All you need to do is to attach some green papers and let them hang from the top bunk. They would look like hanging vines. You can also add crawling vines around the four posts of the bunk. There are also hanging stuffed animals that you can purchase from the Internet. These would surely add up to the jungle theme of the bed.  Consider printing photos of some jungle animals, frame them and post them against appropriate bunk spots.

Zoo

A zoo theme is perfect for animal-loving kids. This is most practical especially for young toddlers who have exhibited a keen interest in zoo animals. You might want to make these animal cut-outs of the favourite zoo animals of your kids. Consider using durable cardboards to make these cut-outs durable. Some of the most popular ones include lions, chimpanzees, elephants, and zebras. If you have bird stuffed toys, you might want to attack them to some strings and let them hang from the top bunk.

Dreamland

A dream land theme is also a great idea for a bedroom. It would be nice to make the bedroom look like a very comfortable and dreamy place. The bed can be decorated with cotton or cut-out clouds. The bunk bed would look amazing if it is lightly-coloured. The sheets and the pillowcases would have to feature 'sleepy' colors like white, sky blue, and faint yellow. Stickers of sandman or sheep jumping over the clouds can be attached to the bunk as well.

These are just some of the fabulous bunk bed decorative ideas to consider for your kids' rooms. If you think that your kids deserve new bunk beds then consider shopping from The Bunk House in Toronto!
