Almost one-third of a person’s life is spent in slumber. Thus, it would only be logical if for any person to make sure that he sleeps comfortably. That is what mattresses are for. Almost every person in the world sleeps on a mattress or even some mattress of some sort. Do you sleep on a mattress as well? You might want to check out the following basics on mattress use.
• Rotate your mattress - It is advised for you to rotate your mattress at least every two weeks. Rotate it from one and to another. Flip it over regularly as well. Doing so would cause it to get wear out evenly. If you use a mattress for a couple of years without rotating it, you might notice impressions of your head, your soles, and even your buttocks.
• Avoid drinking and eating on your bed - No matter how eating on bed feels great, you should try to avoid drinking and eating on it. Every time you eat on your bed, there is always that tendency to spill something on it. Not only can your mattress get soiled and stinky. You might also spill some food or water on your bed frame and end up ruining it.
• Avoid bouncing on your mattress - Avoid bouncing on your mattress especially since it is not a trampoline. If you have some kids, make it clear for them that bouncing on bed is not allowed. Aside from ruining your bed easily, bouncing can also increase their chances of suffering from terrible accidents.
• Protect your mattress from stains - You have to treat your mattress with care. You should try to prevent it from getting stained as much as possible. When not using it, it is advised for you to cover it with a piece of thick sheet or even a plastic cover. It would be better for your bed to be protected with a cover rather than sit there all morning gathering dust.
• Prevent pest infestation - If your bed is made out of wood, you should make sure that it does not get damaged by termites. Fortunately, most wooden beds these days are treated by chemicals that prevent termite infestation. But you want to make sure that never happens keeping alert for termites. They kind of look like ants. You should also be alert for bedbugs especially since they soil mattresses and make these stinky.
Proper mattress use is encouraged. Anyone who uses a mattress should know how to use it properly. This is so that they would last for a long time.
